Moving Somerset Forward are all about dragging people out of their cars and on to public transport, or walking or cycling; all things very close to a ‘transitioners’ heart. Currently they are offering novice cyclists an opportunity to get some training in on the big ole’ roads out there to improve cycling proficiency and confidence and all for just £5.  If you are interested please go to the www.movingsomersetforward.co.uk website and click on the ‘Adult Cycle Training’ button to learn more. It is that simple.  This training is offered all over Somerset so please have a look even if you do not live around Taunton.

Moving Somerset Forward are also running some Family courses over the second week of the Easter holidays (12th – 16th April).  To register your interest in taking part in the training, or for further information, please contact the Moving Forward team by emailing movingforward@somerset.gov.uk  or calling 01823 356033.

The team are also running a Cycle Challenge; it’s just a simple challenge where people are encouraged to cycle more simply by logging their trips on the http://www.movingsomersetforward.co.uk website each month. By doing that, people can see how their mileage adds up, the amount of calories they are burning and the money they are saving. Each month, everyone who has logged at least one trip is entered into a prize draw to win £75 of cycle vouchers. You can also get free cinema tickets by encouraging other people to take part.

Go for it and get on your bike!
