Somerset County Council are proposing a scheme to improve the junction to the M5 in Taunton to improve routes leaving the M5 southbound, mitigate against queues and delays on the Toneway and for traffic coming in from Ilminister on the A378. The closing date for the consultation is 12th October so maybe too late for comment.. I’ve looked at the proposals on site. The Taunton Cycling Forum will send in a comment from the point of view of the cyclist and suggestions for improvements from a cyclist and pedestrian point of view. This included concerns about the hostile nature of the road ‘improvements’ to cyclists and pedestrians.
